The latest Eclipse IDE release includes Java 18 support and improved Java development tooling.

As always, this release of the free, open source Eclipse IDE is available thanks to the work of hundreds of contributors and committers around the world. This release covered 68 projects and more than 98 million lines of code.

The release features platform improvements, such as an improved search box in Windows dark theme, new commands added to support multiple carets and selections in Text editor, and encoding explicitly set for new workspaces/projects. A variety of platform plugins that will ease the addition of new functionality are also included.
