Eclipse WTP Project ships platform API for independent extension

The Eclipse Community Awards are to recognize and thank the individuals and technologies that make Eclipse such a vibrant, robust community. There are two categories of awards: 1) awards for individuals, and 2) awards for technologies and products. Nominations are open until January 27th. The awards will be presented at EclipseCon 2006.

Eclipse RCP is the core runtime environment of the Eclipse tooling platform. Overview

The Rich Client Platform (RCP) allows you to build Java applications that can compete with native applications on any platform. Part 1 of the tutorial introduced you to the platform and the steps used to build the smallest possible RCP program. In part 2 we'll look at what we did in more detail and introduce some of the configuration classes that let you take control of much of the layout and functionality of an RCP application. This part has been updated for Eclipse 3.1.

The Eclipse Test & Performance Tools Platform (TPTP) Project was selected as a finalist for the 2005 Testers Choice award in the "Java Test & Performance" category. Also, a TPTP-based tool, IBM Rational Performance Tester, was selected as a finalist in the "Load/Performance Test Tools" category.

The Eclipse Foundation today announced the keynote speakers for its third annual community conference, EclipseCon 2006. The show brings together the Eclipse community to share and learn new techniques, ideas and technologies, as well as provide information about the latest developments and future plans of the Eclipse projects. The conference will be held March 20-23, 2006 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
