Eclipse Galileo Release Now Available

For the sixth year in a row, the Eclipse community has delivered its annual release train on its scheduled date. Galileo, the 2009 release train, is the largest ever release from the Eclipse community, comprising 33 projects and over 24 million lines of code. Over 380 committers from 44 different organizations participated to make this release possible.

Eclipse Summit Europe Call for Participation

The call for participation is now open for Eclipse Summit Europe, the Eclipse Foundation’s annual European community event, taking place October 27-29, 2009 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. You are invited to submit proposals in five categories: 1) embedded, 2) IDEs, 3) modeling, 4) runtime, or 5) other new & noteworthy that is of interest to the Eclipse community.

Eclipse Acceleo Day

The first Eclipse Acceleo Day is being held in Nantes, France on July 10, 2009. Acceleo is a component of the Eclipse Model to Text (M2T) project and the workshop will be an event where users and developers of Acceleo can meet, present their planned extensions, and discuss model-driven engineering.

Galileo In Action

On June 26, the Eclipse Foundation is presenting Galileo In Action - a virtual conference where you can interact with project leads involved in the release and see demos of the new features. The annual simultaneous release has now grown to 33 projects with over 24 million lines of code, contributed by committers around the world. With such a large global community, Eclipse wants to bring Galileo to you!

Anyware Technologies and the Eclipse Foundation are pleased to announce Eclipse Time, a 2-day event taking place in Toulouse, France, June 23-24, 2009.

Discover the Eclipse open source platform with business cases presented by experts. Eclipse Time features well-known speakers from the community including Eclipse Foundation members, software editors and companies that use Eclipse-based solutions. The event consists of a conference day followed by a full day of workshops.

Celebrate Galileo at an Eclipse DemoCamp

To celebrate the Galileo release in June, the Eclipse Foundation is inviting individuals to attend Eclipse DemoCamps around the world. The DemoCamps are informal meetings where fans can present what they’re doing with Eclipse. Events are planned from May 18 to June 26 and locations are listed on the DemoCamp wiki.

Eclipse Community Survey: Tell us what you are using

The intent of the survey is to better understand how individuals use development tools, use open source software and interact with the Eclipse community. The Eclipse Foundation plans to publish the survey results in June 2009.
