The latest Eclipse IDE release includes a number of new features and improvements, such as improved Java development tooling and plug-in development tooling.
As always, this release of the free, open source Eclipse IDE is available thanks to hundreds of contributors and committers around the world. With 64 projects and more than 97 million lines of code, there are a wide range of enhancements, including:
- Mixed Product Support in PDE Product Editor and OSGi Repository Target Location Type to improve interfacing of repositories with PDE
- New Java Constant Hover, Improved Lambda Cleanup, and progress information display for JUnit test configuration
- An improved platform, allowing a new workbench window to be displayed on the current monitor
- A variety of platform plugins that will ease the addition of new functionality
