Beyond the basics: Elevating Eclipse ThreadX to a first-class RTOS for RISC-V


Eclipse ThreadX is helping advance the RISC-V ecosystem by delivering first class support for the open instruction set architecture. Through collaboration across the Eclipse Foundation and the OpenHW Foundation, the project is building a high-performance, safety certified RTOS for the next generation of embedded, IoT, and software defined systems.

New projects

Eclipse Layout Kernel provides layout algorithms and infrastructure that connect graphical editors with automated diagram layout capabilities, helping developers create clear, structured diagrams without manually positioning every element.

Eclipse AAS Core Works provides reusable core libraries and tooling for working with Asset Administration Shells (AAS), the standardised Digital Twin concept used in Industry 4.0.

Eclipse QSOS (Qualification and Selection of Open Source Software) is both a methodology and a collaborative tool that allows users to define, evaluate, qualify and compare open source software based on the specific needs and constraints of a company, organisation, project or individual.

Eclipse Canon-C provides a strict-layered set of header-only C99 modules covering: portable primitive types, overflow-safe arithmetic, explicit pointer alignment, traceable contracts, arena and pool allocators, fixed-capacity collections (vec, deque, hashmap, priority queue, bitset, array), Result and Option types, explicit ownership annotations, generic algorithms (map, filter, fold, find, sort, search), structured diagnostic frames, string operations, and minimal logging and parsing utilities.

Eclipse KeyPont provides Go libraries, examples, and supporting tools for cryptographic-token integration, protected-key usage, and cryptographic protocol support.

Eclipse KeySealer provides software for integrating Kubernetes KMS APIs with external cryptographic key stores and key-management systems.
