This year's SUMO User Conference (held September 13 - 15, 2021) was, for the second time, a virtual event. With over 350 participants from 36 different countries and 28 presentations, we were able to gain an insight into various topics related to mobility simulation and modeling, using open source tools and in particular with our Eclipse SUMO simulation software. The presentations were rounded off by a keynote by Prof. Bogenberger on ride hailing, ride pooling and the role of traffic simulations in this context.
In order to improve the user experience of such an online event and to create opportunities for networking and informal exchange, we held a virtual social event as well as a “Wonder.me” virtual room for further discussions on the subject of SUMO.
