The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to announce the release of Eclipse Virgo 2.1, a light-weight application server for deploying applications based on OSGi. Eclipse Virgo was created in March 2010 and is based on the code contribution of VMware's SpringSource dm Server product. This is the first official release of this project since becoming an Eclipse project.

EclipseDay in Valencia is being held in Spain on November 30 - December 1. This two-day event will bring together the Spanish community of Eclipse users and developers from a wide range of academic, institutional and business backgrounds. The main theme of the conference is Modeling, Methodologies and Model Driven Development. There will also be other topics related to Eclipse projects.

The European Software Institute-Technalia is pleased to announce Eclipse Embedded Day Spain, which takes place November 9, 2010. The event is a day-long conference for technical experts, software developers, Eclipse users and researchers from the Spanish embedded systems community.

The EclipseCon 2011 Call for Participation is now open. Everyone is encouraged to submit a session proposal before the November 17, 2010 deadline.

Eclipse Day Paris takes place November 5, 2010 and is a day-long event to explore Eclipse projects and topics for the French community. The event is ideal for IT decision makers, software architects and process and methods engineers that are interested in using Eclipse.

Eclipse Summit Europe starts in 2 weeks in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Register today and plan to attend the annual Eclipse community conference.

The Eclipse Enterprise Modeling Day is scheduled for October 28, 2010 in Zurich Switzerland. The purpose of the event is for large organizations to share experiences and best practices for using Eclipse modeling technology. More details here.

During the month of November, the Eclipse community will be hosting DemoCamps in cities around the world. For this series, the Foundation is introducing a new program to reach out to the academic and student communities. Building on the success of our regular DemoCamp series, we invite university students and professors to organize Campus DemoCamps.

The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to announce the keynotes and technical program for the upcoming fifth annual Eclipse Summit Europe (ESE) conference. ESE is the annual Eclipse European community event planned for November 2-4, 2010 in Ludwigsburg Germany.

Eclipse Day in Rome is being held on October 5, 2010. It is the first event taking place in Italy that is focused on the enterprise adoption of Eclipse-based solutions. The main topics that Eclipse Day in Rome will explore are service-oriented architectures, integration and interoperability domains, and there will be specific use cases from the Eclipse ecosystem.

The Eclipse Foundation and Eclipse member companies are pleased to announce the fall 2010 training class series. The training is an excellent opportunity for software developers and architects to learn more about Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP), BIRT and Modeling technologies. Eclipse experts will lead the sessions, providing practical experience through classroom instruction and hands-on labs. Virtual and on-site classes have been scheduled in several countries from September 20 to November 5, 2010.

The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of Eclipse SDK 4.0, the next generation Eclipse platform. Eclipse has a very large and successful ecosystem of plugin providers and RCP application developers. Eclipse 4.0 introduces new features that make it easier for the members of the ecosystem to build and assemble Eclipse plugins and RCP applications.

Bredex, MicroDoc and the Eclipse Foundation are pleased to announce Eclipse Testing Day in Darmstadt, which takes place September 8, 2010. Eclipse Testing Day is a day-long event for technical developers, testers, architects and managers to learn more about testing with Eclipse and OSGi technology.

Today the Eclipse community delivers its annual release train, a coordinated release of the major Eclipse projects. For the seventh year in a row, the 2010 release train, code named Helios, arrives on time and is now available for download.

We are pleased to announce the Eclipse Day at the Googleplex, being held on August 26 at the Googleplex in Mountain View CA. Each year we put together an agenda the includes Eclipse and Google related topics. This year we are featuring talks about Android, Helios, GWT, EGit, Linux Tools, Eclipse 4.0, EMF, XText and much more. It is shaping up to be another great agenda.
