The Eclipse Foundation congratulates Chronon Systems, the winner of the first "Eclipse Hot New Products Showcase", held during EclipseCon 2011. Facing twenty other competitors, Chronon won with their "Time Travelling Debugger".

The Eclipse Foundation congratulates the winners of the annual Eclipse Community Awards, which recognize the top individuals, projects and technologies in the ecosystem. Recipients were honored at an awards ceremony March 21 on the opening day of EclipseCon 2011.

The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to announce that developers may now sign-up for access to a beta version of the OrionHub service, a hosted implementation of Orion. Orion is a new Eclipse initiative to define a platform for building and integrating web development tools. An early release of Orion provides web developers with an editor for JavaScript, HTML and CSS that runs in popular browsers and the ability to easily link with popular web-based tools.

The EclipseCon program committee is holding another series of auditions on December 15, 2010. The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to announce the release of Eclipse Virgo 2.1, a light-weight application server for deploying applications based on OSGi. Eclipse Virgo was created in March 2010 and is based on the code contribution of VMware's SpringSource dm Server product. This is the first official release of this project since becoming an Eclipse project.
